Niki/Tomi is a socio-realist drama that tells the story of two cousins from the same barrio whose lives are determined by tragedy and distance. The story vacillates between the POVs of NIKI and his cousin TOMI as they each navigate separate, personal quests for upward mobility.

Niki and Tomi are two trouble-making cousins growing up in Highland Park during the decade of rising racial tensions that led to the LA Riots of 1992. After a tragic murder, Niki’s family moves to a small town in Oregon where he lives in safety but faces the covert oppression of suburban America, while Tomi’s life in LA spirals into further volatility and violence.
